Try Your Luck with Black Jack!

Looks like we're in for a fun-filled weekend ahead! In the meantime, check out your adoptable dogs of the week, Black Jack and Maple!

Black Jack is a male black/white brindle Pitbull Terrier.  He is almost 2 years old and has been at Sarasota County Animal Services since mid-January. Black Jack is good with other dogs and very playful.

The staff believes he would be great with kids as he is quite the love bug.

He is wonderful outside the shelter environment, as well as inside. The shelter staff is currently working on his basic obedience and leash walking skills. Black Jack is up-to-date on his routine shots and he is neutered.

Up next is sweet Maple. She is a spayed black/brown brindle Labrador/Husky mix. She is almost 2 years old and she has also been at the shelter since mid-January.

She is a very sweet girl, but is becoming very stressed at the shelter.

Stressed dogs often exhibit behaviors not typical of their normal personality.  She has become very barky in her kennel, but once she is away from the kennels off property, her personality really shines. She loves to be the center of attention and she loves to cuddle with her human companions.

She walks well on a leash and is learning new tricks every day.
